"The room was quiet, clean, and looked very new. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and provided excellent service. The building's earthquake resistance is outstanding – early this morning, there was an M5.7 earthquake in Miyagi Prefecture (intensity 3), and I felt both the bed and the entire building shaking (O_O)! Despite that, it felt very secure! You can stay here with complete peace of mind! Complimentary toiletries are available on the 1st floor, along with tea and coffee sachets. On the 2nd floor, you'll find washing machines, dryers, a water dispenser, vending machines, and an ice maker. The room was quite spacious. Both the hairdryer and showerhead were high-end Refa brand, which was a pleasant and novel touch. Daily complimentary bottled water is also provided. No deposit was required, check-in was quick and convenient, and check-out was incredibly fast! Highly recommended!"

"Excellent location, super convenient! It's just a 2-minute walk from the Shinkansen exit to the hotel. You pass by a food street with all sorts of restaurants on the way. You take the escalator up to the 4th floor to check in. On the 4th floor, there's a lounge exclusively for guests where you can enjoy free coffee and juice. There's also a gym, and the view is quite nice. The room is spacious enough for two people. And the Gyutan (beef tongue) street inside the station? A perfect 100%! 💯"

"Great location! Few minutes walk from Sendai station and surround with lots of shops, restaurants and department store. There are 7-eleven and Starbucks at the first floor. The room is very nice. Everything is new, clean, with good space for two 28” luggage to open at the same time and we still can walk around the room. The staffs were so nice and provided prompt support. We found problem about the hair dryer at midnight and the staff changed a new one to us immediately. There are free amenities that you could pick at lobby. Highly recommend and would definitely choose this hotel if we have a chance to visit Sendai again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻"

"Super near Sendai station and there’s a 7/11 round the corner from the hotel. It’s also very near an eating area, superb location. There’s a bathhouse in the hotel but we didn’t try. For the price I think it’s a real steal!"

"The room is a good size. Each floor has an ice machine, and irons are available. There's a Western restaurant downstairs, and it's very convenient for shopping and dining nearby. We took the subway to the Sendai Museum and saw the Lu Xun statue. To visit the Guanyin statue, you'll need to take a public bus or the sightseeing loop bus."

"Convenient location where JR station, subway stations are within walking distance. Very good breakfast with lots of local delicacies. I like the public bath too despite room a bit small but the layout is good that u have enough space to open your luggage. Free coffee at lobby."

"Hotel Monterey is centrally located just outside the Sendai Station and is easily seen after you exit the station. The staff was very courteous and helpful at the time of check in. Language could be an issue but is easily manageable. I was offered a single room in a lower floor and on my request for a room on the higher floor, without any hesitation I was allotted a double room on the higher floor. The ambience of the restaurant for breakfast was great and the variety of food served catered to Japanese and western. The breakfast was delicious. I had to extend my stay and this was also done seamlessly without any issues. Overall a great hotel centrally located with plenty of shopping around. If I come to Sendai again, I will return to Hotel Monterey if I visit Sendai again."

"Great location, about a 10-minute walk to Sendai Station. It's very close to the morning market and there's a convenience store nearby. The room was clean and tidy, and the kettle boiled water quickly. The lobby is also very beautiful."

"The lobby was spacious to chill and nice, especially when the in-house pianist played some soothing classical. My room was decently cosy. My bed was a combined layout of 2 single beds, though one mattress was slumping low overworn out on its spring, while the other was firm. Felt kinda weird sleeping in the centre, which I usually do, with the gap and unevenness. Service was excellent and attentive. Kind assistance from front desk Loida, helping me to translate conveying a request I wanted to put across for my next hotel stop. There is a public bath on the 16th floor, nice and clean. Elevator is kinda slow though. Location is under 10mins walk from Sendai JR station, on a quiet stretch away from the bustling shopping area."
